Dr. Carlton Shiraki and Dr. David Dung were both born and raised in Honolulu and then went on to complete their dental and orthodontic training in the mainland. Shortly after they returned home to begin their individual practices, both of them became Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontists; an optional and rare certification that only a fraction of practicing orthodontists possess. They are the only Diplomates serving the Mililani and surrounding areas.
Dr. Shiraki and Dr. Dung soon became close friends and colleagues as members of the Hawaii Orthodontic Study Group. When Dr. Shiraki expressed his intention to transition into retirement, Dr. Dung offered to join him in Mililani. This collaboration is allowing Dr. Shiraki to complete his current cases while introducing his new and recall patients to Dr. Dung, someone Dr. Shiraki can entrust his patients’ care to.
Dr. Kaitlyn Tom joined the practice with them in 2023. She is so happy to be back home and serving her community.

Dr. David J Dung was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He went on to attend the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979. Click here to read more about Dr. Dung!
Meet Dr. Kaitlyn Tom
