Your First Visit to Mililani Orthodontics

Welcome, we’re so glad you’re here. Your first visit is a free, no-obligation consultation, and no referral is needed. It’s a relaxed, friendly appointment where we get to know you, look at your smile, and answer every question, so you leave with a clear plan and a clear quote in a single visit.

Is the First Visit Really Free?

Yes. Every new patient at Mililani Orthodontics starts with a complimentary exam.  There’s no cost and no pressure to begin treatment. We’d rather you feel completely comfortable with your options first.

What to Expect

Plan for about 30 minutes to an hour. Here’s how it usually goes:

• A warm welcome. Our team greets you, helps with any paperwork, and gives you a feel for the office.
• A specialist exam. One of our board-certified orthodontists evaluates your teeth, bite, and jaw alignment.
• Digital records. We capture photos and a comfortable iTero® digital scan (no goopy impression trays) and any needed X-rays to plan precisely.
• A one-on-one conversation. We explain what we see in plain language, lay out your options, and answer your questions.
• A clear plan. You’ll get a personalized treatment recommendation and timing, and our treatment coordinator will go over fees, financing and insurance with you.

Will Braces Go On at the First Visit?

Usually not. The first visit is for diagnosis and planning. Once you’ve reviewed your plan and you’re ready, we’ll schedule a separate appointment to begin treatment, so there’s never any rush.

What to Bring

To make the most of your visit, please bring:

• Your insurance card (if you have orthodontic coverage; we file all plans for you)
• A dental referral or recent X-rays, if your dentist provided them
• A list of any current medications
• For a minor, a parent or guardian to discuss treatment and consent

Your Investment

Orthodontic fees depend on the complexity of your case, and we’ll give you an exact quote at your visit. Your treatment fee typically includes your records, active treatment, and your first set of retainers.
